I didn’t know anything about the progressive movement before 2016 when Bernie Sanders was running against Hilary Clinton, i didn’t get so involved into until the primary which i guess was too late, but i still didn’t get into it fully. After the election was a whole different thing. A lifetime Democrat, I became a progressive for the first time i think in my family history someone was other than a Democrat.
Not the first time i got involved with politics, when i was younger my father used to take me to his political event, he learned it from my grandfather who was also involved in politics not hold high office but have a passion for it. I didn’t realize the impact that left on me, now I am kinda obsessed with politics, especially progressive politics.
Progressivism started as a social movement and then became a political movement, progressive believe in providing good education, a good workplace for all, social change, fair law for everyone, wealth stability for all, health care for all, and a safe environment for everyone and if that is done a society will be fair for all.https://www2.gwu.edu/~erpapers/teachinger/glossary/progressive-era.cfm
Progressive fights for the voters not the donors, that’s something i pulled me in, also i believe in money out of politics, America is for the people by the people not only for the wealthy. I know people that work twice have hard or more than one percent and will never see that kind of money or will have that kind of power. I believe that healthcare is a human right not just for the wealthy , it hurts to see people die because they can’t afford to live anymore, people want a change i want a change, it’s time for a change, it’s time for a revolution. The rich/1percent are so out of touch with what the working class is dealing with, what the young people are dealing with, what the environment is dealing with. If they are less than us why do they get to decide how we live, or just how everything in this country works, we have the voice we need to join together to make ourselves heard.
