What I have loved and watched since i was a little girl with my whole family are Telenovelas, telenovelas are a staple in the Latino community. A telenovela is always playing in a Latino house. Latinos grow up on telenovelas The best telenovelas I’ve seen are the ones that I grew up on lately. I have seen a trend with telenovelas and that is that spanish networks are remaking old successful telenovelas. The remakes that they have made are yo soy Betty la fea original from Colombia which I saw for the first time and I loved it. Betty la fea has been done in many different channels and different languages but to me none comes close to the original.the first Betty la fea was came out in 1999 and the Mexican Televisa Betty la fea came out in 2006. For starters the generations have changed, we don’t or try to subject women to their looks, Betty la fea is about a woman that is ugly but very smart everyone makes fun of her because he is ugly but she has the heart of gold. Some still see women as an object as nothing else than beauty, I think that’s why the rest of Betty la fea were not successful. We can also understand another thing from Betty la fea how it was made in 1999 and a different culture and it has been able to transform itself to different cultures and different languages. Which I didn’t understand before is that Betty la fea is many stories it comes from many stores we grew up with like the ugly duckling/ like Cinderella and so many more, i think that’s why Betty la fea was able to adopt to different languages and cultures also Betty la fea is a telenovela for the whole family its funny, has many different characters with many different messages and in the end the role is to empower women. There are many other telenovelas that a remakes and most of the time are not as successful as the original like Jane the virgin which comes from the Venezuelan novella which i also watched and loved  Juana la virgin, i also watched Jane the virgin till the last season which had too many changes for me to handle. Another remake is Queen of the South which I haven’t watched but I have watched and love la reina del sur. One telenovela that the remake was more successful than the original is Rebelde which i watched and love, the original is rebel’s way which i didn’t watch. Remakes of shows are very hard to pull off because you have the original audience that might hate it but have a new audience that might love it.
